To undertake workplace-based assessment on behalf of the school of Health, Social and Child Care.
This is a temporary position for approximately 18 hours per week (Monday-Friday) which includes travel to Brecon, Neath and Port Talbot areas.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- To carry out work placed assessment of candidates including obtaining witness testimonies and oral testing of underpinning knowledge;
- To up-date knowledge of appropriate awarding body units at all levels
- To work closely with candidates providing support and detailed feedback
- To liaise with FE coordinators and external agencies on candidate issues
- To help candidates with the preparation of portfolio of evidence (arranging format, cross-referencing etc)
- To organise visits and meetings with candidates/employers as required
- To participate in all in-house administration duties i.e. record keeping, registration, certification, organise visits and meetings with candidate/employer
- To promote knowledge of key skills
- To attend regular meetings as required e.g. Course team, quality, learner reviews, parents evening and INSET events
- To promote and market the services of the School of Health, Social and Child Care to increase learner recruitment.
Ideally you should have a level 3 qualification (NVQ/QCF or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and have relevant industrial experience. You will also hold an Assessor Award, a level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics (GCSE or equivalent) and be IT literate to level 2.
- The equivalent rate of pay for NVQ Assessor is £16.07 per hour
- Candidates must have an enhanced DBS (on update list) and must be registered with the EWC as Work Based Learning Practitioner.
