Our Client is looking for a Science Support Technician (Chemistry) to start in August on a permanent basis.

• To provide technical and educational support to all aspects of the Post 16 science and wider co-curricular programs offered; with a particular focus on supporting chemistry as an IB subjects but also to play a key role in the development of the wider college curriculum. To manage, prepare and issue all equipment, materials, chemicals and tools as required for lessons and to ensure laboratories are cleared following lessons
• To demonstrate (assist demonstrations) and support teaching colleagues in the safe conduct of experiments and practical techniques to classes displaying a high level of dexterity and confidence
• To research proposed student projects to advise colleagues / students if practical requests are safe and suitable
• To give one to one or group support sessions to enable students to deliver their projects as a part of the whole college curriculum.
• To organise and supervise additional, non timetabled laboratory work and offer (safety cover) practical guidance
