- To work collaboratively with academic staff to increase student attendance and attainment through prevention and early intervention support activities.
- To contribute to the collection and analysis of transition data from feeder schools to identify vulnerable students and student groups that would benefit from specialist support.
- To provide wellbeing and resilience support to ensure the effective transition of vulnerable students into and out of College
- To identify appropriate wellbeing interventions including referrals to external specialist support for students who are identified as at risk of leaving.
- To develop wellbeing group activities to strengthen the resilience of students that require specialist support such as young carers and looked after young people.
- To work in collaboration with the Safeguarding team to provide a seamless student-centered support service.
- To keep up to date and accurate student records on the Student Intervention Log and the electronic student record.
- To develop and deliver a student-centered wellbeing action plan through six-week cycle of support.
- To engage with students through a variety of platforms including face to face and remote support.
- To work with Careers Wales and key stakeholders to ensure that students unable to remain on programme have an appropriate exit strategy;
- To participate in the organization and delivery of student activities such as Freshers Fairs, Taster Days, UCAS and student engagement events;
- To liaise with key stakeholders to ensure that students needs are met, and attend specialist reviews when appropriate;
- To provide an advocacy service for students when required;
- To provide a flexible and innovative approach to the support for students;
- To participate in student engagement, attendance and progression monitoring;
- To undertake relevant administrative and clerical duties as required.
Lecturer in Agriculture
To carry out a full range of teaching duties and administration associated with the delivery and management of learning programmes as appropriate.
This is a temporary position for approximately 15.5 paid teaching hours per week based in Newtown.
Ideally candidates will have a teaching qualification, level 5 qualification (HND/HNC or equivalent) in the subject area and have relevant agriculture / agricultural engineering experience. Candidates should also have a level 2 qualifications in both Maths and English (GCSE or equivalent) and with the impact the digital world is having on teaching and learning, will need to be IT literate to at least level 2.

- To contribute to the delivery of the NPTC Group of Colleges Student Support Strategy aims and operational objectives and the Professional Standards Study Support staff;
- To work collaboratively with academic staff to increase student attendance and attainment through early identification of students that would benefit from Study Skills support and intervention;
- To contribute to the collection and analysis of transition data from feeder schools to identify vulnerable students and student groups that would benefit from specialist support;
- To provide appropriate study skills support to ensure the effective transition of vulnerable students into and out of College;
- To identify appropriate study skills interventions including referrals to external specialist support for students identified as at risk of leaving College;
- To work in collaboration with the Wellbeing and Safeguarding team to provide a seamless student-centered support service;

- To plan and deliver 1-1 and group workshops for a diverse range of students to include literacy, numeracy and ICT together with such topics as learning techniques and presentation skills;
- To develop workshops for groups of students with similar specialist support needs such as ALN or anxiety;
- To engage students through a variety of platforms including face to face and remotely;
- To deliver relevant Study Skills Coach duties to students under the age of 16;
- To liaise with key stakeholders to ensure that student’s needs are met and attend specialist reviews when appropriate;
- To attend and contribute to academic school meetings when appropriate;
- To provide an advocacy service for students when required;
- To participate in the work undertaken to track student attendance, engagement and progression;

- To provide technical and educational support to all aspects of the Post 16 science and wider co-curricular programs offered; with a particular focus on supporting chemistry as an IB subjects but also to play a key role in the development of the wider college curriculum. To manage, prepare and issue all equipment, materials, chemicals and tools as required for lessons and to ensure laboratories are cleared following lessons
- To demonstrate (assist demonstrations) and support teaching colleagues in the safe conduct of experiments and practical techniques to classes displaying a high level of dexterity and confidence
- To research proposed student projects to advise colleagues / students if practical requests are safe and suitable
- To give one to one or group support sessions to enable students to deliver their projects as a part of the whole college curriculum.
